In a move that could significantly impact Ethereum’s future, a pseudonymous researcher has introduced a novel block proposal mechanism designed to decentralize the block-building process and address issues related to Maximal Extractable Value (MEV). Here’s a closer look at the proposal and its potential implications for the Ethereum network.

Ethereum Researcher Proposes Shared Random Algorithm for Decentralized Block Building

An Ethereum researcher has introduced a new block proposal mechanism called the “Decentralized Random Block Proposal.” This aims to decentralize Ethereum’s block-building process by implementing a shared random algorithm. The proposal suggests eliminating Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) at the block level and distributing block construction more equitably across the network. Pseudonymous researcher Malik672 detailed the concept, explaining that while Ethereum’s proof-of-stake (PoS) model and the proposer-builder separation (PBS) system have mitigated MEV concentration to some extent, block-building remains highly centralized.

Ethereum Foundation Reveals New Leadership Structure

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has announced a new leadership structure consisting of two co-executive directors, Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak. This comes after community backlash regarding recent struggles in the ETH ecosystem. Wang, a CORE researcher, was a major contributor to the Ethereum beacon chain. Aya Miyaguchi, the former executive director, has taken up the role of the organization’s president.

Ethereum Foundation’s New Leaders and ETH’s Reaction

The Ethereum Foundation has announced major leadership changes with Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak stepping into the role of co-Executive Directors on March 17th, replacing Aya Miyaguchi. This strategic shift aims to strengthen Ethereum’s ecosystem and guide its next phase of development. Danny Ryan has also joined Etherealize to drive global adoption. The question remains whether this new leadership will help Ethereum [ETH] regain momentum and solidify its place at the forefront of the crypto space.

Bybit Hackers Resume Laundering Activities, Move 62,200 ETH

The Lazarus Group, believed to be behind the $1.4 billion hack on Bybit exchange on February 21, has resumed laundering activities. The group has moved a total of 343,000 ETH from the 499,000 stolen, representing about 68% of the total funds. With only 156,500 ETH remaining, analysts expect the rest to be laundered in the coming days. The FBI has also raised an alarm regarding the group’s fund-moving activities.
